President's Letter

Hey everyone! It’s getting close to being that time of year again! For returning varsity, you know exactly what I’m talking about.  New novices and forensics hopefuls, you will soon find out. It’s FORENSICS time again and I’m very excited!  Hopefully all of you have thought about this upcoming year and are just as ready and excited as I am.  The most enjoyable part about summer vacation, for me anyways, is time and a little relaxation.  But even while this is very enjoyable, the thought of a new upcoming forensics year and more members to meet is just enough to get myself ready for Forensics to begin all over again.

Coach Memo

Hey Guys!

The summer packets have been mailed out and I am excited about the start of a new forensic season!  Please look over your packets and let me know if you have any questions, and please let me know if you are not going to be able to attend the workshop. If you have ideas for pieces, or speeches, feel free to run them by me. Remember, the more that you can get done during the summer, the more that we can polish the week of workshop!

RHS Forensics Workshop

A reminder to all prospective novices, returning members and interested persons: The 2009-2010 RHS Forensics Workshop begins soon. We will hone our speaking skills, pick and cut pieces, and prepare for the coming season. Can't wait to see the rest of the team!

NFL Nationals 2009 @ Birmingham, AL

Congrats to our four NFL competitors. While no one broke in the main events, Supplementals and Consolations gave everyone breaks. Sidenote: Special congratulations to St. Andrews's Public Forum Team, who made it all the way to finals.

NCFL Nationals 2009 @ Albany, NY!

Congratulations to all competitors, qualifiers, and participants at the 2009 NCFL Grand National Tournament in Albany, NY.. in which Tierra Williams broke in Poetry. After the tournament, the team took a trip to New York City. I think we can all agree that this year's NCFL was amazing, and we can't wait for Omaha 2010!

Bootcamp 2009!

RHS's new batch of prospective novices learned the ropes at the team's annual Bootcamp. After 4 days of learning events, the novices are ready to take to the tournaments! Thanks, and Congratulations, to all who attended.

2009 End of the Year Showcase

The team participated in the End of the Year  showcase on Tuesday - the last showcase for our four seniors. After great presentations in nearly every event, power was passed down to our new president and executive committee. Thanks to all the parents, students, and other spectators who came to see us! Everyone did an amazing job!

Hub City Classic

ImageHey everyone! The Hub City Classic Forensic Tournament in Hattiesburg is tomorrow. This is the last "real" tournament before qualifiers, so let's go out with a bang! I know everyone has been working hard, and all that work will reflect in the tournament.

8th Grade Presentation

The 8th graders from Olde Towne Middle School visited the school today, and I must say that Joey, Kristen, Tierra, Maria, and Rashad all did magnificent jobs presenting. Way to represent public speaking!

Reflection on Magee

Hey guys, it's me again. This past weekend we attended the Magee Trojan Classic. While we did garner several awards, I think we can all agree that we could have pushed ourselves harder. Granted that this tournament was the first tournament after the holiday break, we still had to bring the fire. I have no doubt that we can all work hard and make the Hub City Classic Tournament in Hattiesburg a success!
